Hi! My name is Jeanette and I am the owner of Pineapple Porch Boutique. Growing up in a large family in Kentucky, our reunions were a big affair. My mother became my role model for hospitality by cooking large, inviting meals and making everyone feel welcome in our home. This is a special memory for me and one I’ve held with me as I’ve experienced hospitality in many ways over the years.

I chose the name Pineapple Porch to honor the significance of the pineapple as a symbol of traditional hospitality. When the fruit was first brought to Colonial America, it was rare and viewed as an item of great luxury. The wealthy would serve the pineapple as part of the meal. Those without great means would rent a pineapple from the local grocer and place it whole in an arrangement on the table to let guests know just how special it was to have them in their home. Thus, the pineapple went from being a symbol of great luxury to a symbol of hospitality.

My hope is that you will find unique items in our store that can fill a special space in your home or in your heart or can be given to someone as a gift for a special occasion. We look forward to seeing you in our store soon!
